Karate Development Arts & Sports (KDA) is the largest and leading Karate education provider in the Philippines. KDA has more than 15 clubs all over Manila and two international clubs in United Kingdom and New Zealand. It also has over 300 active students all year round.
KDA is recognized and affiliated in good standing with the International Shotokan Karate Federation, The Philippine Karatedo Federation NSA Inc.m, The Philippine Sports Commission, The Philippine Olympic Committee and the World Karate Federation.
KDA is the only karate organization in the country who annually send instructors to the ISKF Master Camp in Philadelphia, USA where the latest improvements to Karate are taught authorities in the field.
It is headed by qualified practitioners who have the knowledge and experience to provide Karate education programs designed for self-defense, fitness and health. Its growing pool of professional Karate blackbelts and instructors hail from various fields: Army Service, Sports Medicine, Business, Engineering and Law.
KDA’s athletic competence and technological excellence in the field of Karate have allowed it to produce high-caliber karatekas who excel locally and internationally in tournaments like the National Open and Youth Games, Southeast Asian Games (SEAG) and the Asian Games. Most of its blackbelts are either former or current members of the Philippine Karate National Team including 3-time SEAG Gold Medalist Gretchen Malalad and other SEAG medalists like Cherli Tugday, Erica Samonte and Ronnel Balingit.
Moreover, three of the national team coaches, namely Sensei David Lay, Sensei Reiner de Leon and Sensei Maricar Rimando, are KDA blackbelts.
